Booking & tickets

How do I book or "register"? Is buying the Eventbrite ticket all I need to do?

Yes. Registering simply means buying your ticket (or deposit) on Eventbrite.

Most of our parties are classed as adult on Eventbrite, so you won't find them by searching Eventbrite directly. Instead, go to the party page on our website and use the Tickets & Deposit tab, which takes you straight through to the tickets.

All party pages (descriptions, dress, FAQ and ticket links): tinyurl.com/LondonHellfireclub

You may occasionally be asked for a password. It is shown on the party page and payment tab, and most parties no longer need one. Prices are shown on Eventbrite, and you can view them without buying.

Which ticket should we buy: couples ticket, weekend pass or deposit?
  • Couples ticket: secures your place and avoids the pay-at-the-door supplement. One couples ticket admits both of you.
  • Couples Weekend Pass: guarantees your place on both nights, avoids the supplement and gives a substantial discount on two separate nightly tickets. If you pay for Friday, Saturday works out at around £9 per person.
  • Couples Early Bird: some big events have long lead times and we reward early booking. Early Bird saves around £10 per ticket, and other tickets may cost more as the event approaches.
  • Deposit ticket: reserves your place, with the balance and a small supplement (partly offset by not paying Eventbrite fees) paid at reception. It's ideal if you're unsure you can make it and don't want to risk the full ticket price.
Can we just turn up and pay on the door, or pay cash?

Couples and single ladies can pay at the door. There is a £10 supplement, partly offset by not paying Eventbrite fees. Where possible, please book in advance (deposit or full ticket), so that we can gauge numbers and, importantly, the ratio of single gents to couples and ladies.

Single gents: we sell out at all weekend parties, so please book ahead.

  • Deposit ticket (guarantees your place): the balance plus a £10 door supplement is payable on arrival.
  • No ticket: you are very unlikely to be admitted, especially at weekends. If there is space and you meet the dress requirements, we charge a £20 supplement on top of the standard ticket price. With dynamic pricing, that price is likely to be higher than the prices shown on Eventbrite earlier in the day.
Do you offer any discounts?

There is a Blue Light discount at some parties, and discount codes are available for large groups.

Membership & ID

Do we need membership? Who needs it and how do I join?

At present, only single gents need membership: ID plus proof of address. Membership is a police and council requirement for our licence, and it is being extended to couples and single ladies over the coming weeks.

Single gents can choose from these tiers: Temporary, League Player, Premier League Player, Elite Player and Rainbow Player. Membership gives you digital ID and your own portal and dashboard in an app on your phone, quicker entry with a QR code, and benefits that vary by tier.

Membership is currently set up at reception. We are looking at letting you scan your ID and enrol before your visit, so you won't need to bring ID and proof of address to the Club.

Is there a cheaper membership for the fetish / LGBTQIA+ nights?

Yes. In recognition of the fetish community's more limited party attendance, there is a Rainbow Player yearly membership for £10 a year. It is limited to The Dungeon, Let's Get Bad Together and Secret Sunday. If you expect to attend other events, you'll need one of the standard memberships: Temporary, League (6 months) or Premier League (yearly).

What ID do I need to bring?

One official photo ID (ID card, passport or driving licence) and one proof of address (e.g. a utility bill). If you live outside the UK, your national passport covers both.

How do I cancel my membership?

When you join, you receive a link to your own JoinIt portal, and you can cancel there at any time. The Club doesn't hold members' details. JoinIt does, and they are GDPR compliant.

Dress code

What is the dress code for gents? Are jeans, polo shirts or trainers OK?

Minimum standard: smart jeans with a long-sleeve shirt or polo shirt at non-formal parties; trousers, shirt and shoes at formal events.

Smart designer jeans are fine at all parties, but no rips or fading (black preferred at SWISH and AllBarNone).

We reserve the right to refuse entry for ripped, faded or dirty jeans, or for trainers, and if your dress or general appearance (including clear intoxication) doesn't meet our standards.

Gents dress standards
What should ladies wear, and can we change at the Club?

Ladies tend to wear sexy, fetish, club or more conservative outfits. Wear what is comfortable for you and fits the party theme. Each party page has recommended outfits, but they are only a guide.

If you're driving, consider bringing a second outfit in case you feel more (or less!) adventurous later in the evening. There is a changing and makeup room, and until 10pm the playrooms can also be used for changing.

General dress guide

Our nights

Which night is best for newbies, and will someone show us round?

It depends on your interests and experience, but in general Secret Sunday and Brief Encounter (Wednesday) are very sociable and more intimate in terms of numbers. Staff and guests are happy to answer questions and do walk-rounds, and guests are happy to share their experiences.

Our other parties are a mix of swinger, fetish or both, and all are newbie friendly apart from Bad Girls, which is, let's say, not for the faint-hearted.

Tip: arrive soon after opening, so we can walk you around before areas start being used for play.

What are the different nights, and who can come?
  • Couples Weekend: couples and single ladies only.
  • Brief Encounter (Wednesday) and Secret Sunday: relaxed and sociable, great for newbies and single gents.
  • Bad Girls: a major play party.
  • No Saints: swinger orientated.
  • SWISH, AllBarNone, Secret Sunday: cater for both LGBTQIA+ and swingers.
  • The Dungeon and Let's Get Bad Together: primarily LGBTQIA+. Let's Get Bad Together is not recommended for those looking for heterosexual play.

Single gents can attend all parties apart from Couples Weekend. Single gent spaces are limited: weekend events often sell out one or two days before, and specials such as NYE, the Xmas Ball and Halloween sell out earlier. A full ticket or deposit guarantees your place.

I'm a single man. What can I expect?

Dress appropriately for the event, and be aware that play is not a right. The Club exists to bring like-minded people together, so be prepared to engage people in conversation rather than walking around hoping to be invited to play.

Dress, manners, attitude and hygiene are the keys to an enjoyable visit. The best nights for single gents are Brief Encounter and Secret Sunday. See also paying on the door and membership.

I'm a single woman. Is it safe and welcoming to come on my own?

Yes, it's very safe. We have well-lit, CCTV-covered parking and vigilant, helpful staff, and many regulars will report anything untoward, especially where single ladies are involved.

What's the crowd like: how busy is it, and what ages?

Our capacity is 210, and our premier events attract up to 210 guests, so most of the year there are plenty of places. Wednesdays and Sundays are less busy than weekends, but it's easier to mix in a relaxed atmosphere.

We have a lower age limit of 21 and no upper limit. We can't ask people's ages, but we'd guess the majority are between 25 and 55.

Are LGBTQIA+, trans and TV/CD guests welcome?

Absolutely. The Dungeon and Let's Get Bad Together are primarily for LGBTQIA+ guests. AllBarNone, Secret Sunday and SWISH cater for both LGBTQIA+ guests and swingers. Brief Encounter is friendly to all, but is essentially a swingers event, and Bad Girls is an unapologetic play party.

TV/TG guests: we recognise TV/TG guests as single ladies only at our monthly fetish events: SWISH, AllBarNone and The Dungeon. At all other events (including Xmas SWISH and major events) a single gents ticket is needed. This compromise recognises genuine TV and TG guests while being fair to single gents, who pay considerably more for their tickets.

Two men as a couple: yes, you can attend as a couple, but please bring your marriage or civil partnership certificate to show you are a genuine couple.

At the club

Do you have lockers, a cloakroom and changing rooms?

Yes. We have a dedicated cloak and storeroom with 40 lockers, hangers for 100+ coats, and a makeup and changing room with 270-degree mirroring. Until 10pm, the playrooms can also be used for changing.

At big events we suggest you arrive early, as storage space goes quickly.

Is there a bar, or do we bring our own? Is there food?

We are fully licensed, so there's no need to bring drinks. There is a Happy Hour for the first hour of every party, when alcohol is half price.

Our bistro, The Hard Cock Café, serves Costa-style wraps, paninis, rolls and barista coffees, and now has an authentic brick pizza station.

What facilities are there?
  • Two gardens: a raised south-facing Terrace Garden and a large heated, covered Courtyard Garden, both recently extended, with a dedicated smokers' area by the Terrace Garden.
  • Two large dungeons, the biggest in any UK club (one with a 14kW log burner).
  • 10 playrooms (5 fully private), plus a couples-only corridor with 3 playrooms and a 270-degree glass dressing and makeup room.
  • Grope maze, a large darkroom and a 4×6 dogging vehicle.
  • Cinema with real cinema seating and a switchable live feed from the well-signed playroom "Area 69".
  • Wooden dance floor with a 13ft pole, wood-panelled bar and a lounge with Chesterfields.
  • Bistro: The Hard Cock Café.
  • Fantastic decorations for major parties, including animatronics at Halloween and Birthday, Xmas and New Year décor.
What music do you play? Is there a dance floor?

Yes, there is a wooden dance floor with 4-channel surround sound, and independent Sonos systems in the two dungeons, courtyard and garden. We play mostly a mix of contemporary genres and try to fit the music to the theme and mood.

Are there showers or a pool?

There is a shower in the ladies' toilets. It isn't used much: we're not a spa, so guests tend to shower before arrival. There is no pool.

Where can we play? Can we bring toys?

You can play in any part of the Club: 10 playrooms (4 large private rooms), two dungeons, the grope maze, darkroom, dogging vehicle, cinema, main lounge, Cage on the Stage and both heated garden areas.

We recommend bringing your own toys. There is a good range of equipment, but toys aren't provided, for hygiene reasons (and because they have a habit of walking out of the Club!).

What do the wristband colours mean?
  • Pink: newbies, or not wishing to interact with single gents.
  • Yellow: happy to chat and possibly play.
  • Green: animal, vegetable or mineral: up for anything!
What is your safe sex policy?

We strongly advocate safe sex and advise guests to discuss it, however briefly, with potential playmates. In our experience it's far less awkward than you might imagine, and it ensures both parties are comfortable with the arrangement.

We recommend bringing your own condoms (for size, sensitivity versus safety, expiry dates etc.). We sell Skyn condoms, but they come in one size and barrier strength.

Can we keep our phones? What is the photo policy?

You may carry your phone, but it must not be used in any guest area of the Club without management permission, apart from the Terrace Garden, Courtyard Garden and reception. Protecting our guests' privacy is extremely important to us.

Exceptionally, on special occasions cleared with staff (e.g. midnight on New Year's Eve, or a group celebration where everyone agrees), phones may be used. Guests who use their phones outside these exceptions, after being warned, will be asked to leave.

Getting here

What time should we arrive, and when is last entry?
  • Wednesday: last entry 9pm
  • Sunday: last entry 5pm
  • Friday, Saturday and specials: last entry midnight
  • New Year's Eve: last entry 11:45pm

You can leave and return, but not after midnight. If you're newbies, arrive soon after opening so we can walk you around before areas are used for play.

Party timings
Is there parking? Can we leave the car overnight or come in a campervan?

There is free, secure, lit parking with CCTV for around 50–65 vehicles within 75m of the door, plus overflow parking for another 60 vehicles within 200m.

Parking can't be reserved unless it's for an RV/campervan or for disabled guests. We can accommodate 2 RVs in our private parking; please email beforehand and arrive before opening so the space can be held.

Where are you, and are there taxis and hotels nearby?

Open The Hellfire Club in Google Maps. From there you can get directions and search for nearby hotels, restaurants and more.

Taxis: we recommend Uber via the Uber app. There are also local taxis, and as our guests make thousands of journeys each year to the nearby Holiday Inn, Premier Inn and Travelodge, taxis are generally quick to respond and don't refuse the short journey.

Policies & safety

What is your refund, cancellation and ticket-transfer policy?

Cancellations need 7 days' notice, and transfers to another event need 4 days' notice. Requests can be made through Eventbrite.

If you're unsure whether you can make it, consider a deposit ticket. It isn't refundable, but it costs considerably less than the full ticket.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

If we cancel an event, you can apply through Eventbrite for a full refund, including your booking fee. Alternatively, you can transfer your ticket to a similar event up to 3 months ahead; any difference in ticket price will be refunded or paid at reception.

Are there age limits?

The minimum age is 21. Staff will ask for age verification where there is any doubt, to meet our licence terms and prevent underage drinking. If you're older but lucky enough to look under 25, please bring proof of age. There is no upper age limit.

Is the Club accessible?

We welcome disabled visitors and strongly support Help for Heroes. The Club is on two floors, with ground and first-floor (mezzanine) garden areas. All areas are accessible and there are ramps at the entrances.

There is no lift between floors, but staff are very happy to help move wheelchairs and their users between floors. Disabled guests can reserve a parking space.

Can we hire the Club for a private party or photo shoot?

We are a Club more than a venue, so hiring the whole venue is very much the exception rather than the rule. Every party must represent the nature and values of The Hellfire Club, even if it is private.

We hold around 200 parties a year, scheduled close to a year in advance, so Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are unavailable. There are occasional 5th Fridays, but these are usually allocated well in advance and would require the event to guarantee more than 85 attendees.

We host all but private parties ourselves, and reception and the bar remain under our control for all events. We are fully licensed for alcohol, limited entertainment, films and music, and any use of the Club must comply with the terms of our licence.

I've left something behind. How do I get it back?

To help you remember your belongings, there is a large illuminated reminder board by the Club exit.

We cannot accept responsibility for items left behind, but if you email info@theold-hellfireclub.co.uk with LOST PROPERTY in the subject line, we will do our best to find your property and reunite you with it.

Is this really the best club in the UK?

If you're looking for a smart, clean venue with a fantastic nightclub atmosphere, unrivalled facilities, a great party line-up and helpful, dedicated staff, then we believe we are the best!
